If you are thinking about starting your own business, the
eternal question of where to get your inventory is probably
always on your mind. Doing some research about where to get
product always leads you to three options. You either buy it
from a wholesaler, you import the items or you have another
company drop ship it for you. There is one option here that I
did not mention and that is you can also make your own
inventory. This option is usually not explored in the first
portion of building your business.
So if you are debating between the drop shipper and the
wholesaler there is a small discussion you need to have with
yourself. Obviously you will want to know if the wholesaler you
are thinking about using is really a wholesaler instead of a
middle man. The next question is the one that most people miss
since they are worried about supply. That question is, "does
this supplier sell a product that I want to put my name on?"
When you think of your business you want to build a brand and
to build authority. If the product line is questionable in
regards to quality, is that something you want to be working
with? Most people will only give you one chance since there is
so much variety to choose from out there. If you get recognized
as a seller with lesser quality items, it will be hard to shake
that title. Starting right is crucial. Using well known brands
is a good way to circumnavigate those problems. Better known
brands have already worked through the glitches of design and
have engineered most problems out of the product. It's hard
enough to deal with shipping problems, customers who change
their minds, customers who are missing "the common sense" gene
and the challenges of marketing, without adding brand or product
problems. Leaving that problem out of the equation calms the
entrepreneurial spirit. The essence of being in business or
starting a business is usually uncertainty and it does not make
sense to add more problems to think about.
So now when you are thinking about drop shipping, look and see
who your competition is for that particular product. Do your
competitors buy from this company? Do they appear to move some
volume? Do they have good search engine results? If so chances
are they are a good vendor. The same goes with wholesalers,
check around. Go to forums and ask some questions. People that
have had a bad experience are the first to speak out against a
company that did them wrong. It's usually the only way they can
get back at them. You can find out a lot of information without
revealing the details or your business plan. Just keep in mind
the question of "Do I want this company to represent my good
name?" I have a saying that I live by, I never let someone else
have control of my success. I cannot and will not let another
company make or break me. I would much rather go down in flames
because of my own doing that allowing some other vendor ruin all
my efforts. I think most people would agree.

At first glance, you could say that a foam mattress is better
than a latex mattress. However, the truth needs to be
discovered. To find out which is the better mattress, ask people
you know who either use a foam mattress or latex mattress. Ask
them what they think of the mattress they use and why they think
it is better than the other mattress.
Latex comes from the plant family, commonly the rubber tree
that grows abundantly in Asian countries. The plant produces a
white sap, which is collected and then processed by heating it
at the right temperature. Foam mattresses have been processed to
specified designs and patterns by using special molds.
Since latex is purely a natural product, we could say that it
is safe to use. It is highly resistant to dust and it is
hypo-allergenic. Latex mattresses are recommended for use by
people who are suffering from asthma, allergic rhinitis and dust
allergies. A latex mattress' best attribute is that it is very
comfortable, capable of keeping your body cool during the summer
and warm during winter season.
Foam mattresses and latex mattresses both have special
attributes. There are foam mattresses and latex mattreses that
would suit anyone's preference and budget. When you are looking
to buy either a foam mattress or latex mattress, go with a store
known for its mattresses. You will have the opportunity to check
them and compare them with other brands of mattresses in terms
of durability, design, models, thickness and comfort levels. You
could try sitting on a foam mattress or latex mattress to gauge
its firmness.
But let's go back to the question -- which is the better
mattress, the foam mattress or the latex mattress? The answer
best lies more in the comfort it brings to the buyer. Many tend
to buy a mattress based on its firmness and durability. So
whether you are looking to buy a foam mattress or latex
mattress, do your research thoroughly. A good mattress should
have a life span of at least ten years; anything less is not a
good deal.
Therefore, the gauge for choosing the best mattress is
primarily the comfort it gives. Another important factor is its
warranty period. Affordability is an important factor, too, but
this should come second only to durability and comfort. Comfort,
durability and price are factors you would consider when buying
things in general. You can safely conclude that foam mattress is
as good and special as the latex mattress; they were meant to
last and give us the best comfort ever.

Young Entrepreneurs Success Tips
If you want the freedom to choose how to spend your time,
how you spend your days and the ability to choose who you
want to work with then starting a business might be right
for you.
In today's age, building a business has never been easier
and the potential rewards are larger than ever. While your
friends are still living at home with their parents, you
could build a business that helps you afford the lifestyle
you want. And thanks to the Internet, young entrepreneurs
can build a global business that puts you on the same
playing field as major corporations.
Before starting a business, there are several steps future
young entrepreneurs can take that will facilitate your
success. There are seven foundation steps that will help
you to build a profitable business, fast.
Get your mind right. The first step to building a
profitable business is for young entrepreneurs to develop
their mental muscles and start thinking with positive end
results in mind. Getting your mind right will allow you to
keep focused and on course even when others try to
contaminate you with negativity.
Set goals. Before starting your business, day dream about
how you see this business growing and picture your
day-to-day role within your company. Write your dreams
down on paper. Goals are simply your dreams put onto paper
with a plan to achieve them.
Once you have your goals written down, review them often.
The more you read and believe your goals the faster you
will get to where you want to go. Take some time before
you go to bed to visualize your goals coming true. It's
true - what you think about you become.
Focus on the greater good. This is especially true for
young entrepreneurs. By starting a business that creates a
positive change in the world you will reap the rewards.
When you start a business that helps people, you'll have
positive forces working in your favor. So not only does
doing the right thing help others, eventually it helps you,
the Good Samaritan, as well.
Build your credit. Having excellent credit is a young
entrepreneur's best friend. With good credit you will have
access to low cost capital. This may not be important when
you first start; however, as your business grows, you may
need business loans to expand your business faster. That's
when having good business credit will pay off.
Open up the Right Accounts. Another critical element for
young entrepreneurs to set up before starting a business is
their bank accounts. A checking and savings accounts
should be set up as soon as possible. The sooner you
establish a relationship with a bank, the more benefits you
will receive in the future.
Be sure to choose a bank that has services you need now and
will need in the future. Being a young entrepreneur, you
want to find a bank that offers business loans, merchant
services, business accounts and additional services you may
need as your business starts to take off.
Build your team. With twenty to forty percent of your
income going to pay taxes, the first members on your team
should include a qualified tax advisor. Be sure to choose
a tax advisor that has experience preparing business taxes.
Another member of your team, that you need before you
invest money into a business, are mentors that have
experience in the business you want to start. Having a
mentor does not mean you need to hire a personal mentor
coach. In today' age, a quick search online and you can
find books, videos and webinars of people that have
experience in the business you're looking to start.
Start a business you like. The last and most important
piece of advice for young entrepreneurs is to choose a
business that you enjoy. What is it that you're into?
Figure out how you want to live, how you want to spend your
days and with whom you want to work with - then find a
business to start that fits your lifestyle goals.
DO IT! Now that you have the foundation in place, get
going on your business idea.

Sustainable Views and Fabric Structures
With Sustainable Design as the most important issue in
Architecture today, designers are not only focusing on
environmentally friendly materials but also educating their
clients on the benefits of their design approach, their use
of materials and their method of construction for reaching
"Green" status.
The essential aim of Sustainable Design is to produce
places, products and services in a way that reduces the use
of non-renewable resources, minimizes environmental impact,
and relates people to the natural environment.
Architectural Fabric Structures have been in use since
first introduced by Frei Otto in the early 1960's for
temporary expositions. The major benefits were its minimal
impact on the environment, its ability to enclose large
spaces with little material and, of course, its aesthetic
quality. Essentially, these early structures were fine
examples of Sustainable Design. Over time, these structures
have proven themselves as a permanent building material
having been used in retail malls, airports, and sports
facilities to name a few.
Everyone (Owner, Designer, Consultant, and Contractor) has
an opinion on sustainability and when it comes to fabric
structures one could argue that these view points can be
broken down into three major components: Design, Materials
and Construction.
When it comes to design, it is very important to understand
why one wants to be sustainable. Some times it can be a
philosophical approach from the owner's point of view, it
could be mandated by market segment or there could be
financial implications (banks, energy, etc.). I always like
to say Design takes time and Green Design takes more time.
Make sure your client realizes that too. Current design
benefits of fabric structures directed at clients include:
day lighting which reduces the need for artificial
lighting, UV protection which reduces the risk of skin
cancer, water collection which is then used for irrigating
plants and other services, solar shading which reduces
energy on a building's mechanical system and rarely
considered but a growing trend of incorporating a fabric
structure as an educational tool that teaches people about
UV protection, recyclability, etc.
When it comes to materials and fabric structures, designers
look to the three basic components: the structural members,
the membrane and the perimeter tensioning system. The
structural system is primarily made of steel but aluminum
and wood are being considered more often. These materials
all have many recyclable attributes and can be specified to
be manufactured locally to the site. However, the most
important factor in looking to be more sustainable with the
structural members is in documenting your work. Saying
something is recyclable and having the certified documents
to prove it are two different things. It is hard to go back
to the origins of the material if you intend to go for a
LEED certification or need it for rebates and tax cuts. The
perimeter tensioning system which includes tie downs and
catenaries can be made with webbing belts, ropes of
different compositions or wire rope depending on the load
imposed on the structure. The membrane can come from all
over the world and fabrication shops varying depending on
the material chosen. Some materials have short life spans
while others are made of recyclable materials. You can also
find materials with 20 to 30 years life spans and are more
environmentally friendly than ever before. The same can be
said for the membrane as it is for the structural members;
document your work and certify its origins. More research
needs to be done on the amount of energy required to both
make the material and fabricate the finished membrane. I
think one will find another added benefit to fabric
structures and sustainable design.
Lastly, construction benefits and fabric structures vary
from location, place where components were manufactured and
what is required to install these structures. Most
tensioned fabric structures are designed, engineered and
fabricated by "form finding" which means they are designed
to be not only structurally efficient but manufactured and
installed with little to no waste and energy. Architectural
fabric is considered one of the lightest building materials
and can create the largest building envelope. The result
can have significant impact from plant to site. Less weight
and packed to move, membrane, structural steel and
components can be shipped to site with fewer trucks and
erected with lighter equipment. Properly designed fabric
structures may have little impact on the ground with
smaller concrete foundations for compression loads and the
use of utility cable anchor technology for tension loads.
These efforts can have significant saving when the site is
being used for temporary structures or deployable
structures where reuse is inevitable.
Remember, sustainable design and the use of fabric
structures is most successful when ALL three components are
considered just keep in mind the views of others.
