Career Interviews Over Lunch Is a Great Idea
Do YOU agree? Maybe is a good answer; sometimes makes
sense; then most of us say, "it all depends" and I think
you are right.
It could be a NO answer for some folks because eating with
an interviewer is a challenge for us to show our best
manners and good eating habits. Watch your neighbors at
the local restaurant and you'll observe/recognize what NOT
to do!
You may think that's an indecisive response, but few things
are set in concrete, so only you can decide what's best for
you. Maybe we need to ask someone close to us what they
think of the idea. Eating and selling ourselves to a future
employer may not go together as well as we may think.
You may "assume" lunch or dinner is a great time to
interview for your career/future. Ask a close friend to
meet you for lunch and conduct a practice interview.
You will assume this is a great time to interview. It
begins by thinking about FOOD and knowing it's FREE to you.
But there might be a "dark" side too. Both the interviewer
and the interviewee have risks in this career game. Since
all of us are trying, wanting to win, it has some high
stakes for all who get involved in the process.
Interviewer says.....
"How about us having lunch to talk about your career
decision?" Smooth; completely innocent; what can go wrong
is the reply coming through from our subconscious mind.
Sure, we remind ourselves about the "not-to" list, but so
often we get comfortable and layed back when consuming
delectable morsals.
Be on YOUR guard every second --
Never relax your guard when you are seeking a new position
with any employer. Most interviewing PROS know that "over
lunch" is always a good time for candidates to relax and
drop their guard without even thinking about it... to their
ultimate regret.
Our true self - who you really are - requires your BEST
behavior interacting with the wait-staff; the cashier;
everyone you encounter in the restaurant or private club
[if you're so fortunate!]
The point is... even if the INTERVIEWER host lets his/her
guard down with small talk or orders a "drink" it's NOT a
good idea for YOU to follow suit. You're there to talk
about your qualifications and expertise, to get to know the
person, the company, to make a lasting impression. [at
least, that's my opinion!]
It's been long ago, but I remember vividly meeting two guys
from the NEW YORK office of a national firm. My Interview
was held in a motel room and their first question was...
"want a beer?" Actually, I didn't "drink" so it was an easy
NO thanks. I'm not sure if this was a test or not, they
enjoyed a couple themselves, but I was sure [driving home]
that the job was NOT going to be mine.
To make a long story, short... YES, I did get the job at
least for the next 5 years when this BIG firm decided to
"down-size" and get rid of the Regional Manager - ME!! Best
thing they could have done and as Paul Harvey says, I'll
tell you the "rest" of the story someday.
Be sure to order foods eaten with utensils, not your hands,
so you'll avoid embarassment or reveal poor eating habits.
It may sound trivial but it might just be a deciding factor
in the interviewing process.
Another irritation today is cell phones. If you have one,
leave it in YOUR car and let calls go to your answering
service or back home at your message center. This is just a
common courtesy when having lunch, dinner, etc. with anyone.

Career Advancement Driven by Goals Achievement
Are you driven by focusing on your end goals? Where are you
going? You'd never take a trip to California from the East
Coast without a MAP, right?
It's obvious that success can be yours when you have career
advancement goals written down and you execute important
steps according to your roadmap to success.
Not everyone is a leader and that's OK. Some employees work
well on individual projects rather than with a group. Many
jobs lend themselves well in this environment.
However, there will come a time in your progress that does
require interaction with a team or group of fellow
employees on various projects.
As you begin working within a firm, look around at your
fellow employees and commit to a positive attitude about
each person.
Yes, someone is going to require more patience from you
when situations arise in the future. That's not a bad
thing. It will help you learn different types of
personalities in the ranks, you'll be more understanding
and appreciate the other person for who they are.
You know the old saying, "sugar catches more flys", and
your good attitude and work ethic will propel you up the
ladder of success in meeting your career advancement goals.
Don't let anyone derail your success when you can defuse
the problem. Everyone is receptive to encouragement and
praise. Send out positive vives, give an atta-boy whenever
you can to your fellow employees.
Even if this does not come naturally within your
personality, you can learn and develop it over time. Be the
cheerleader in business, at home, church, or wherever you
enteract with others.
Keep a journal. Write down the names of associates and
record your interactions over the weeks and months to come.
You'll be pleasantly surprised at how much quality change
will follow your personal interactions with the staff,
especially those who are under your supervision, as you
give positive feedback and accolades to your team.
Never say, "not my job" or "not my problem", however this
does not mean you have to accept the "monkey" everytime
someone asks you for guidance. Don't say "let me do it" or
"I'll take care of it" when you can be helpful without
taking over the job itself.
Some of us love to let someone do our work or take on all
our problems, but it's not in your best interest to allow
others to drop the ball on your desk.
Listen, ask "what do you think" or "what would you suggest"
and then make sure the ball is back in their court, not
sitting on your desk while they go drink coffee or eat
lunch.
Don't stiffle your career advancement by losing focus of
your goals. It's never easy, but it is possible when your
goals are defined as part of your action plan.
Ask yourself - "what's holding you back?" Are other
employees moving forward with their career plans? Is your
team growing independent with good progress? You set the
pace and others will follow your leadership. Career
advancement is your end result.

School or Office.... Bullies Always Look the Same
The first word that comes to mind is - "insecure" - and
needing a friend. It's hidden but deep down inside that
mean spirited person, you can hear the BIG cry of fear and
aloneness to the core.
Back in my school days, even at the office, I don't recall
any bullying challenges. Maybe I've just forgotten but
don't think that's the case. Few of my friends had such
problems with someone being BAD or taking advantage of the
situation. Most of us just were supportive of each other
and no one dared to challenge any of us.
All of that sounds really good.... we were tough and no one
bothereed us. However, maybe that's not the situation at
all. Actually, times have changed in the school system,
even at the office. Boldness is on the rise. Bullies have
risen to the surface where none existed before.
On the other hand, you cannot allow "fear" to be your
guiding star as you encounter others in the marketplace.
School? Office? Plant? In the Mall parking lot? Inside
the Mall? Gas station? Likely places to run into the
"bullies" of today.
Honesty is not the same as before. Integrity is not what
it used to be. Value systems have changed. It's sad but
true in far too many areas of life that we have lost
direction in how to live our lives as good citizens,
responsible, trustworthy.
What's happened? Value systems seem to be screwed up for
some. Then pride shows it's ugly head. Respect of adults
and peers seems lost. Family values. Parents who care is
troubling in many neighborhoods. Many Teachers who take
pride in their work are lost in trying to keep classroom
peace.
You and I cannot vouch or take responsibility for the world
or those around us.... only for ourselves. It's up to us to
be the leaders - a guiding light - to show others what life
is all about and how to live.
We must step up without intimidation or fear. Look those
you encounter in the eye with confidence. Kind words and
good thoughts will go a long way toward difusing conflicts
with others, especially the bully.
Bullies are more afraid than you are. Stand your ground
and let them know where you stand. Walk with your head
held high with a spark in your step. You can difuse most
bullies simply by letting them know they can not intimidate
you.!
Have you noticed? Most bullies are seldom alone but have
their "like-kind" buddies along for protection should they
encounter a challenge from someone like you or your
friends. Few bullies are loners as they seek their prey but
have "friends" along "just in case" things don't go as
planned.
Over the years, I've seen many bullies back down when they
meet the guy/gal with determination and those who refuse to
be intimidated by their antics of fear or attempts to
control classmates.
Believe in the power of intention. Few people will get in
your way when they understand you are focused and directed
toward a specific goal. Keep up the good fight for the
right to be the best you can be in all areas of life.

Have YOU Given Thought To Your Future Career Goals?
Today, I look at young boys and girls and wonder what
they're thinking. Is their Career or future livelihood
even a figment of their imagination?
Does it cross their mind in the course of a day? Where is
their "head" or brain when it comes to decisions about
making a living or where they will live?
Personally, I wonder! Interesting is the fact that my Mom
and Dad had the same questions about me. Hard to believe
but true.
Every generation seems to think the next bunch are going to
the dogs. Fortunately, most find their way and often end
up making a great contribution to society.
It's encouraging to know that's the case. Sadly, some do
fall through the cracks and end up in jail, on the streets,
or worse.... dead! Freedom is often too costly for some to
handle.
As Parents, most of us do, want the best for our children.
However, one of the worst things we can do is make fun of
the decisions our kids make or put them down rather than
building their self-esteem.
Not everyone is going to be an executive, a doctor, a
lawyer, a scientist, minister or whatever you can dream for
your children. We have to accept them for who they are,
whatever ability God gives them as their gift to society.
Being the "best you can be" is all I ever wanted for our
children. It has not been my goal to direct any of them
into the same mold or career path as we've enjoyed.
Life is all about making good choices and being honest,
living with the integrity and character of respected
individuals, regardless of where you find yourself.
Success is not about making money or being rich. Yes, it's
nice to have the means to provide well for your family, but
in society today it's possible in most occupations for us
to be successful and responsible.
None of us have to cheat our way, or take advantage of
others in order to provide for our family. Not everyone
is a business guru who can make tons of money without fail.
There are risks involved in working for the business owner
as well as having your own business.
Often times a person ends up working twice as many hours
for himself as he/she would be working for someone else to
make the same income. Something to think about!
Many successful business executives work for others in the
same industry before embarking on their own. Even then not
everyone is successful because of hidden secrets or
expertise.
Few of us can really get inside where the details are known
by the owners and kept confidential rather than spilling
the beans to all the staff.
Understand there are risks whatever your decision about
working for an employer or trying it on your own as the
employer. As you might surmise, you're on your own when
leaving the comfort of a steady paycheck.
It's imperative to know that it's never as easy as you
think. Usually, the boss is not as rich as you think
either. The first 25 years is the hardest then it gets a
little easier.... so be careful how you put your business
plan together.

Career Success Requires Your Visionary Talent
If your career choice is to find a new employer, you won't
go wrong asking important questions about the company
visionary.
If they say, we don't have a visionary, then move on
quickly to your next interview.
DO NOT accept employment with any firm that fails to have
visionary talent, a leader, that someone who works ON the
business vision, it's future, searching, seeking,
networking, doing all the important functions necessary for
success.
Have you ever wondered why so many companies end up in
bankruptcy or floundering, year after year, you have just
discovered the firm without a LEADER, the pace setter, the
visionary.
Every firm needs a leader, a visionary ~ a very controlled
risk taker, one with exceptional smarts, however, not
someone "out of control" with the firms financial stability
or net worth.
Do you know what I mean? Some folks "think" they are
leaders by raiding the cash box, or stealing the company
blind from the inside.
A few years back, we saw white collar crimes happening from
"inside" the executive suites. We want to skirt around
these guys and find an honest place with integrity to land
our dream job.
I'm confident that you can find your dream job or career
choice by using your own visionary talent to uncover some
hidden treasures or flaws in most firms.
You have to become a private eye, investigator, even a
snoop to dig out the underlying stability or weakness
within your future employer as well as the staff, including
the executives and owners.
Work on your contact list of prospective employers,
networking through the Chamber of Commerce, go back to your
alumni group or college friends, find out where they are,
discover their career choice and if it makes sense for you
to seek a position in the same field, even with the same
employer if a position is available.
INTERVIEWING every competitor in a niche industry is a
major KEY to your future success. For example, if you've
chosen the banking industry, or the insurance field, then
ask all of them to grant you an interview.
Your head will be spinning with all the insider details
gleaned from these interviews with competing firms.
SAVE your TOP PICK potential employer to interview at the
end of your search. Our #1 goal is to get the inside scoop
on what's happening within the ranks, to learn which
competitors you don't want as your future employer.
Get educated about what's happening within a niche market,
which firms are making money, which ones have been losing
their market share.
Some firms in your chosen niche may be experiencing
financial troubles, going backwards rather than moving
forward, where YOU certainly don't want your career choice
to be.
FOCUS ~ SEARCH ~ NEWWORK ~
A SUCCESSFUL COMPANY ~ has a visionary LEADER ~ never work
for a firm that only has Managers. Keep your eyes and ears
tuned to the pipeline where you'll learn all the inside
scoop within the industry.
Use the Internet to do in-depth research once you've begun
to focus on a selected niche industry. Get help from a
friend if necessary. If you have a mentor or mastermind
group then you're way ahead of most folks seeking their
career choice or career change in the marketplace.

Career Education Is Your Goal With Every Interviewer

Career Education Is Your Goal With Every Interviewer
Don't waste your time with an incompetent Interviewer.
Every interview should expand your career education and
choice for future employment decisions.
Your goal is to learn everything you can from the
interviewer as well as from your research on the Internet.
Don't be bashful, ask whatever you want to know.
Sure, timing is important but you should have all the
details about every career position before you leave the
interview.
Never ask about compensation within the first 5 minutes of
your interview. You probably don't want to appear only
interested in CASH rewards, but the answer needs to come
somewhere in the process.
No need to spend time when there is no possibility of
meeting your bottom line money requirements with a
particular Interviewer.
Sure, there are many avenues of interest to discover. The
first questions that need to be answered are.... can you do
the job? Do you have the skills? Talent? Education?
Knowledge? Do you have experience already in this field?
Obviously, you have more questions.... assuming you
answered YES to our initial questions. Once you have met
with the interviewer and he believes you have "what it
takes" to do the job, then we can begin to sneak in the
important questions... about compensation, benefits, work
hours, job assignment, supervision, the title you'll have
as an employee, etc.
There's usually an understanding that if you don't ask for
"it" upfront [before your new job begins] you may as well
forget about "seeing" it in your future.
For example, 2 weeks vacation may be the "norm" but maybe
you can negotiate a better agreement with 3,4 or 5 weeks;
start other benefits immediately rather than in 90 days....
worth thinking about during the initial interviews with the
executive staff or owners.
Leave NO lingering questions ~ ask if you don't know or if
you don't understand. Your interviewer will certainly
respect you for having the tenacity to ASK when questions
remain unanswered.
If you get rejected or made to feel foolish, then I would
think long and hard before hanging my hat with this company.
The real truth about a firm is often hidden, covered-up, or
a bad situation not revealed. It's important that you dig
deep for any underlying skeletons, bad publicity or press,
dishonesty within the ranks, especially at the executive
level of the firm or the owners behind the scenes.
Don't be afraid of diversity, doing something new, even if
it's usually another "gender" position, at least in the
past decade or two. Women are doing jobs formerly filled by
men most of the time and now men are doing jobs "normally"
filled by women in the past, i.e. ... secretaries, nurses,
wait staff, etc. are non-gender focused today.
Life focus is changing everyday in the career choice arena,
so don't turn away from an opportunity that has the
potential to turn into your very own dream job or career
choice for the future.
Be open to change, new exposures in the business
marketplace are happening and offer career choices in every
field of enterprise.
Keep your notebook handy, especially when you're
interviewing with the competition in your niche industry.
Write down all the questions you are asked, think about
your answers, right or wrong, it becomes added ammunition
in your own arsenal of Q and A, to have on the very tip of
your tongue for an easy response next time around.
Ask for the firms EMPLOYEE MANUAL and any additional
"propaganda" advertising or financial reports that may be
available in the public eye.
Don't be shy, "ask and ye shall receive" or keep moving to
your next interview until you find the right firm willing
to give you the facts and history of their past and future
goals.
I'd take the EM and reports home with me and spend a little
time reading all the fine print. You may turn up a few
surprises that the interviewer overlooked telling you about.
I'd want to know if the company promotes from within or
always goes on the outside to look for a new employee.
Think about it! You've got to get promoted to reach your 5
year goals, at least that's my assumption as you find a
beginning place to start your climb up the corporate ladder.
In conclusion, let me suggest visiting several local
organizations, especially the Chamber of Commerce and
others to discover if the firm is a good citizen, do they
support local groups, i.e. the United way, the BBB [Better
Business Bureau] and there may be other places this firm is
well connected to in the community as a good citizen.

Searching for Your Dream Job
Perhaps your job started out as what you wanted, but the
job itself or you have changed, or maybe you were only
intending to use your current job as a leaping point to
your next one but you have remained in place for the last
five years.
In any case, it's time to stop working a job that only
allows you to "make do" and find one that will help you
feel satisfied and fulfilled!
The fact is, your dream job is out there, but if you
continue to putter away at a job that is boring,
unsatisfying and might not even fulfill your needs when it
comes to basic survival, it's time to make a plan and get
out!
When people think of dream jobs, all too often, they think
of the jobs that they thought about when they were children.
When you were a child, you thought about being an
astronaut, or a dancer, or an actress, and when you grew
up, whether you tried to gain that goal or not, you
realized that very few people made it to those fields and
gave up; in other words, you felt you were settling.
The problem is, many of those people carried the
disappointment they felt from learning that they couldn't
do the jobs that they wanted as children into their adult
lives.
Very few people follow through with their childhood dreams,
but the fact is, those childhood dreams probably wouldn't
have made you happy anyway.
Your needs and beliefs about a good job when you were a
child will be far different from your needs as an adult,
and you'll find that if you consider your needs as an
adult, you'll have a much better chance of finding your
real dream job.
Think about what makes you happy, and what you need in
terms of job security, monetary pay and challenges.
The first step in searching for your dream job is actually
realizing that the one you're in right now is not going to
make you happy.
Have you been waiting on a promotion or raise that never
comes, or do you feel that your efforts are wasted on a
routine basis?
Perhaps you feel that they don't appreciate you, or you
silently think that you are so much better than this. All
of these feelings are valid; the important thing to realize
is that they are feelings that should be acted upon.
When you take a look at the feelings of discontent that you
have amassed about your job, realize that you spend a
quarter of your life at work. Your life is simply too
short to feel like that for a fourth of it!
More people find their dream jobs than you might think; as
a matter of fact, you'll find that's all a matter of
searching and making your time count.
There are many things that can help you find your way into
the job of your dreams so make sure that you start looking
and get into the right mindset.
There is no time like the present, and you'll find that you
can make your own opportunities as you seek to discover the
right career path for you.

"Your KEY to Career Focused Success"
Everyone wants the key to a successful career, right? I
always did and I'm sure you do too. None of us want to be
left at the starting gait feeling disenchanted and broke.
Your career path is taking a trip down many different roads
hoping to make 'right' choices in the decision making
process.
Many times you may have made wrong turns in the road but
got back up again. Never, never, never give up is key to
your future success. None of us are guaranteed anything in
the workplace. Even when we've done great work and
exceeded all the usual expectations of the boss... we can
still get outsourced ' downsized or simply fired for no
good reason without recourse.
Get back up and go again. It's their loss for not having
you as a career employee. Your good attitude will carry you
on to the next level of success in your career path.
Nothing can stop you.
Only once in my long career was I fired from my position
but it turned out to be the BEST thing to happen for me...
and to their demise [failure].
You are the IN-CHARGE person to make decisions about your
future career path. Never let anyone tell you otherwise.
As you've heard before, if YOU don't do it then it'll never
get done... or no one is going to do it for you.
Each step or action you take is one move closer to your
career journey arrival... it's like a road map on your way
to your destination.
Over and over.... it's all about TAKING ACTION. Everything
you read is... "losers wait for a miracle while the action
taker gets the job."
Which one are you? Are you a procrastinator? Are you
unwilling to take responsibility for yourself or to care
enough to get going now?
Success may mean making 100 phone calls; 200 resumes sent
into the marketplace; 20 interviews may be in your future
to arrive at your new career position... does it matter?
Not really if you get the end results desired.
Your #1 goal is to have SUCCESS in the search for your
Dream Job. Do not let anything or anyone get you
sidetracked. It's all about FOCUS, so if you have ADHD or
ADD... get professional help. There's nothing wrong with
asking for guidance in your career search.
Methods change - there are some who use VIDEOS - audio -
the latest in marketing techniques to promote YOU to a
possible new employer. There's NO guarantee that one idea
or method will work better than any of the others.
DO something EVERYDAY. It may even be the wrong "something"
but better than sitting around feeling sorry for yourself
and wasting valuable time.
You're losing income every day of unemployment or staying
in the wrong career path. Get focused on your journey now,
not later.

A proven way to earn money online is to promote affiliate
programs. When you become an affiliate of another website, you
are advertising their company on your site. A good idea is to
join one or more affiliate networks so that you have a choice of
merchant programs to join. The network provider will aggregate
your commissions from the various affiliate programs into one
check.
How do you set up your Internet affiliate advertising plan?
Setting your Internet affiliate advertising plan into place
isn't that difficult once you have your website up and running.
The first thing you need to make sure of is that your site is
search engine optimised. That is what drives people to you when
they look for things online via platforms such as Google. Select
keywords to optimise your site for that are being searched for
by customers, but for which there is not too much competition.
For instance "gifts" is a very broad term and will have a lot of
competition. But "aromatherapy gift basket" will have less
competition and will deliver exactly what the customer is
looking for. The more specific you are, the higher your hits.
Next step in Internet affiliate advertising is...
If you have not already done so, join a reliable affiliate
network that also works with the merchant you are supporting.
Shareasale.com, CommissionJunction.com, and LinkShare.com, are
all good affiliate networks to consider. You can be paid
anything between 5 and 40% of the sale price of a product. If
you join the affiliate network of a company that supplies
digital products the commissions are even greater...upto a
massive 75%. Clickbank.com is the best-known player in this
market. These networks will help you keep a track of your
commissions and provide you with tools to advertise the
merchant's wares.
What if I haven't found the right affiliate program yet?
The affiliate networks listed above can recommend affiliate
program that will suit your needs. As a matter of fact, by using
one of these affiliate networks, you may find quite a few
programs. Whatever your site is about you should be able to find
a relevant program. Look for something that complements your
site. If your site is about wedding dresses you could promote
the affiliate program of a wedding invitation company or wedding
favors company. It's also a good idea to not put all your
proverbial eggs in one basket. Choose between three and five of
these programs to promote.
Other Internet affiliate advertising tips
If you are looking to update and spruce up your webpage in
order to attract more customers, you do not need to know a lot
about programming. There are programs all over the Internet that
can help you prepare a website or even a single page that is
simple to use and not confusing. There are also plenty of
website templates available at very low cost. Alternatively you
could always employ a website designer.
Once your site is up and running, your work has not finished.
In fact it's only just started. Start promoting it like mad. You
can use paid advertising programs like Google AdWords or
low-cost marketing such as article marketing. You need to get as
many eyeballs looking at your site to have the best chance of
making a success of your affiliate website.

Internet Fax Providers - What To Look For Before Buying?
Internet Fax is known by many different names such as email
fax, online fax, electronic fax, e fax or even digital fax.
Regardless of what you call it, Internet Fax simply means
using your email system and the Internet to send and
receive your faxes via email attachments usually in PDF or
TIFF formats.
You have an online interface (site) where you can not only
store your faxes but also where you send and receive your
faxes. In addition, many providers will let you fax thru a
desktop application or directly thru your email program.
Internet faxing has become very popular mainly because it
is relatively inexpensive and it lets you send and receive
your faxes anywhere, anytime. It is more secure than the
old fax machine and since it is web based, you can
basically fax wherever you have Internet access and these
days that's just about everywhere.
If you're looking to purchase an Internet Fax service you
will probably consider some of the more popular brand name
online fax providers such as MyFax, eFax, RingCentral,
RapidFax, TrustFax, Send2Fax, MetroFax and Faxage.
However, choosing an Internet Fax service does take some
consideration, especially since this is usually a
"long-term service" and even a small difference in price
can add up quickly over the long haul. So here are some
certain common features and qualities that you should look
for before buying or signing up to any one fax service.
1. Overall Quality Of The Fax Service
The overall quality of your chosen fax service is very
important to consider. You want a reliable service with a
minimum of problems. Your online faxing should be seamless
and hassle-free; with any issues quickly answered or
solved. Checking customer reviews and ratings will give you
some idea of the quality of the different fax service
providers. Test-driving a service will give you a better
view.
2. Good Reliable Customer Support 24/7
You want good customer support that's available 24/7.
Again, if you should have problems, they should be taken
care of in a timely fashion. Check the Support hours - most
companies have 24/7 service but not all.
3. Competitive Pricing
There are countless fax plans and services so it pays to
shop around for the best price. But again, look first for a
quality service instead of just choosing the cheapest rate.
Consider the number of pages (incoming & outgoing) which
you will receive with the monthly fee. Check what's being
charged for overage or extra pages. Also remember, buying
with an annual plan can save you up to 25% or more.
4. 30 Day Free Trial
Most Internet Fax Providers give a 30 Day Free Trial so
take advantage of this offer to test-drive a service. Try
before you buy. Some companies also offer one month free
but you only get this on your second month into the plan.
5. $10 Monthly Fee
The average monthly fee is around $10. Some plans offer a
small annual fee of around $20, which should be considered
if your faxing needs are very minimum. There are also some
services where you pay around $4 per month with no free
pages, you buy faxes as you need them.
6. No Set Up Fee
Most but not all Internet Fax services have no set up fees.
Check your service plan before you sign up. Keep in mind,
it might be worth your while to pay a start-up fee if the
service you're getting is worth it.
7. No hidden Fees
Most fax services do not have hidden fees but you must ask
or check before you buy. Make sure all your faxing costs
are up-front and you can check these costs at any time.
Some companies will notify you when there are extra charges
over your regular limit.
8. Around 300 Combined Pages (Incoming & Outgoing)
There are different amounts but most companies have around
300 combined faxing pages included in their plans, this
includes incoming and outgoing faxes. If you do a lot of
faxing, it pays to shop around for the best service with
the largest number of faxes each month.
9. 10 Cents Per Minute for Extra Pages
The average for extra pages is around 10 cents per minute
but again it pays to shop around. Also note, some companies
quote rates in pages, while others quote in minutes... for
pages it is assumed that it takes 1 minute or less to
transmit your fax, however, with large faxes it may take
longer.
10. Local and Toll-Free Numbers
Check what type of Fax Number you will be receiving, Local
or Toll-Free. Check to see if there are any extra charges
for the Toll-Free number.
11. Online Interface & Storage Capacities
Most companies have an online interface (site) where you
can send and receive your faxes. But each will have
different storage amounts and different lengths of time you
can keep your faxes online. This is important if you plan
to keep your faxes for a long time or if you want to store
large quantities of faxes online.
12. Scalable Business & Corporate Plans
Most fax providers offer corporate faxing plans that are
completely scalable to meet your growing company's needs.
Also check for special rates if you will be doing any large
volume fax broadcasting or you're operating a large amount
of fax numbers within your company.
All of the above features should be considered when buying
your Internet Fax service. Some of these will vary
depending on your own faxing needs or requirements; but
always keep in mind, you're looking for a good reliable
service that offers quality faxing at a competitive price.
Do a little homework now and it can pay big dividends down
the road.

Advertising Formats for Internet Marketing
The format of an advertisement refers to its type and the
position it occupies on a page. Web based advertising
formats are most similar to the types used in traditional
print media advertising because of the visual medium of
both. There are a variety of advertising formats to
consider when you are looking to strategically market your
business.
Banner Ads
The granddaddy of internet marketing advertisements is the
banner ad, a clickable rectangular image, displayed across
the top of a web page. The placement of an ad at the head
of the page is a strategic choice. Westerners are taught to
read top to bottom, left to right, so whatever information
appears at the top of the page is in a targeted real estate
area for grabbing attention.
Banner ads were one of the original internet advertising
tools, have enjoyed a great deal of success, and are
reliable and proven way to attract customers to your
business and services, and your website. Banner ads however
are not foolproof or one hundred percent successful. Banner
ads have become so prevalent that web users have started to
get desensitized to the images, sometimes ignoring the
images altogether. This phenomenon was first described by
researchers at Rice University as banner blindness, and it
is this issue that eventually gave rise to other forms of
internet advertising.
The next phase
The market saturation with banner ads prompted a new crop
of internet ads to be born. Tower ads, inline ads, sliding
ads, pop-up ads, and video based ads are all popular forms
of web advertising you see on just about every web page
now, and are types of ads that morphed out of the success
of the original banner ad.
Most of these advertising types are a variation on the
format of the banner ad, changing the placement,
orientation and style of the ad to gain more of an edge for
visually capturing one's attention. A tower ad is a
vertical rectangle banner placed either to the left of
right of the web page content. An inline as is a smaller,
more narrow banner ad that is inserted into the middle of
web page content.
Aggressive advertising
There are a couple of banner inspired internet advertising
formats that are more aggressive ways to grab a viewers
attention and tend to be more controversial, spurring loyal
fans and staunch opponents. The sliding ad and pop-up ad
are two of these more aggressive marketing tools.
A sliding ad is an advertisement that literally moves
around the web page, often until it is accessed by
clicking. These ads are some of the most infuriating for
internet users because they force you to stop what you are
doing to acknowledge the ad and make it go away, and one of
the most successful ads for strategic marketing for the
same reason: the advertisement demands the viewers
attention.
A pop-up ad is the most infamous of these aggressive
methods, literally popping up into a new browser window
when you click on a web link. These ads are another type
that cannot be ignored - you must acknowledge the ad to
dismiss it, thus the advertisers have achieved their goal
by capturing your attention.
Most companies use more than one of these types of ads to
make for a collaborative marketing platform. All of these
advertisements can be used in affiliate marketing systems
and using a combination of these methods is an intelligent
way to strategically market your businesses products and
services.

REVEALED: How to Reach the Top Rung of Credibility, Power & Influence
It is no secret that we live in the age of information
overload. No matter where we look, eat, sleep or breathe,
we are bombarded with information. The problem is that our
potential clients are too. So how do we cut through the
clutter?
For starters, we have to build credibility with our
audience and get them to begin looking for our messages,
because they know that what we say has value. How do we do
that? Let me show you.
Let's take a look at a simple principle that I call the
Ladder of Credibility, Power & Influence.
At the bottom of the ladder you have the Generalist.
The Generalist is anyone who has a general knowledge about
the subject matter at hand. You can lump many people into
this category, because a generalist is anyone with a
working knowledge of the subject who has no specialized
niche.
On the first rung of the ladder, there is the Expert.
The Expert specializes in and should ideally know
everything about a narrow field. In our society, we value
the opinion of the expert more than that of the generalist.
If you don't believe me, imagine that you have a brain
tumor. Who would you call first: your family practice
doctor or a brain specialist? That's what I thought.
Towering above the Generalist and the Specialist, the
Celebrity is at the second rung of the ladder.
I know it sounds a bit absurd, but studies show that in a
marketing message, consumers will value what a celebrity
has to say over pretty much any expert you can put in front
of them. One example is the long-running infomercial for
the acne medication, ProActiv®, which is a product of
Guthy-Renker, one of the most successful direct marketing
companies in the world. They pay celebrities, including
Jessica Simpson, Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, Jennifer Love
Hewitt, Vanessa Williams and Serena Williams, to convince
consumers that their product is the right solution to fight
acne. They could afford any physician in the world for the
amount that they have to pay these celebrities, but the
celebrities outperform the experts all day long.
Last but not least, the Holy Grail top rung on the ladder
of Credibility, Power & Influence is the Celebrity Expert.
Not many celebrities ever rise to the status of Celebrity
Expert, but you can bet that when they do, their marketing
planner is full! In order to reach this status, the
celebrity has to find a way to communicate their knowledge
of a subject to consumers. This can be done in many ways:
by writing a book, sharing their knowledge with another
celebrity like Larry King, or posting blogs on their
website. There are many ways to do this; the point is that
to reach this status, the celebrity has to do more than
just be good at their chosen profession, e.g. acting,
music, sports. Consumers value a celebrity expert over all
other categories of people who deliver marketing messages.
Some great examples of Celebrity Experts are Rachael Ray
(Cooking), Martha Stewart (Domesticity), Donald Trump (Real
Estate), Oprah (Self-Help), Robert Allen (Real Estate), Jay
Abraham (Marketing), Dan Kennedy (Marketing), and there are
many more. If you don't know who all of these Celebrity
Experts are, that's ok! To their chosen niche, they are
celebrities and experts on their subject matter.
The point here is that most people's preconceived notions
about who consumers listen to are wrong. If you are willing
to put in a lot of time and effort, you too can reach
Celebrity Expert status and turn your prospects into raving
fans.

Use Innovative Pricing to Reduce Costs and Increase Demand for Your Offerings
Mention innovative pricing to gain more profit, and most
people think of charging more for "extras." I got a new set
of glasses this week. The lenses only cost $59, but they
tried hard to sell me an "anti-glare" coating for another
$50. Based on what I know about coatings, this probably
costs $0.10 to apply. I'm on to that kind of so-called
innovative pricing. No, thank you!
Lower prices instinctively feel to most people like a way
to shave their profit margins, and drown in the resulting
profit squeeze. While you certainly need to be careful
whenever you lower prices, help can come in the form of
price adjustments that reduce your costs at the same time.
Let's explore how to find these cost-reducing price
adjustments.
You can also use pricing as a carrot or a stick to
influence which offerings your customers and end consumers
will choose. Whether you use the carrot or the stick in a
particular circumstance depends, in part, on your fully
analyzed current and potential costs.
Adding volume has widely differing impacts on average and
marginal costs across various offerings. This is true in
both the short term and in the long term. You should
consider both time perspectives and dimensions of costs.
Consider Southwest Airlines. That carrier uses pricing in
both ways to reduce costs.
First, the airline specializes in lean operations that have
lower costs than all other major air carriers. This enables
the company to offer lower prices for vacation travelers
and others who can book flights well in advance. Such
discounted prices are usually about 10 to 20 percent less
than competing airlines for the same routes.
You can often fly on the airline coast-to-coast for the
same price paid for a similar, discounted flight 38 years
earlier. Those low prices attract lots of customers, and
the airline often has a higher percentage of seats filled
than its competitors. That popularity drives down costs
because the extra expense to add another passenger is very
small. As Southwest might say, it's just peanuts. Most of
the increased revenue turns into profit contribution.
Second, like other airlines Southwest also charges more for
people who buy tickets at the last minute. However,
Southwest's prices differ from those of other airlines by
being based on a much smaller percentage increase from the
discounted fare. Thus, a business traveler may be able to
buy a last minute ticket as little as 25 percent of the
price of a competing airline. This drives a lot of last
minute travelers to Southwest at premium prices, further
lowering costs while fattening margins.
How can you use lower prices to cut your costs even faster
than your prices drop?

If you want to know how you can benefit financially from Google
ads without too much effort, you will be surprised how easy it
can be. I was amazed myself to learn that people are pulling in
over $5,000 a week.
You may have heard of Google cash and seen many of the
advertisements to make money through putting Google ads on your
website. There are ads all over the place and, if you are like
me, you will mostly ignore the majority of ads.
Different people I know who have tried to make money by putting
Google ads on their site have told me that they do not get that
much from it and some even wonder if it is worthwhile allowing
Google the space on their websites for the return they get.
Others have told me that they got nothing from having Google ads
on their sites, so they decided to make better use of the space
by putting their own products there.
When you hear negative reports about having Google Ads on your
own website, the immediate reaction you would probably have is
not to bother with the idea. Who wants to waste their time
flogging a dead horse?
Advertising is a mixed bag. You will meet some people who will
claim it works, but the majority of people are often not sure
and feel they have to advertise to prevent their competition
from getting an advantage over them. Regardless of what people
think about advertising, Google are making a fortune from
getting their ads placed on websites all around the world.
Not only is Google making a fortune from advertising, they are
also paying out a fortune for pay-per-clicks to people how allow
the ads on their websites. The question is who is getting the
money? I have put my hand up; you can put your hand up, too.
More people are becoming Internet conscious every day. Just
think how many people there are in the world. Now just think of
how many businesses exist where you live and how people are able
to make a living from those businesses. Now ask yourself: How
many customers do those businesses have in a week?
Some businesses only have 70 customers a week and they make a
comfortable living. Other businesses need 700 customers to make
a living, while larger stores might need 7000 customers and
larger organizations might need 70,000 customers.
As you can see, it doesn't take too much looking around to
realize that if a local traditional business can make a living
with less than 700 customers, you would be able to make a living
from the Internet, which has the potential of 7,000 million
customers. There are not that many people using the Internet
yet, but there is more than 700 million people using the
Internet. What this means for you is there is a big market for
you to tap into at the click of your mouse while sitting in your
own home.
While I know people who discouraged me from making money on the
Internet previously; these days I am not so fooled. There is
plenty of money to be made. Just knowing the tricks of the trade
is all it takes. Anyhow to show you want I mean, I am giving
away a free ebook, which explains in more detail how you can
learn the tricks of the trade and start making cash from Google,
too.

When you're new to internet marketing, you're setting off on a
journey of opportunity to seek your fortune. The internet is
this big, open community where you can literally make your
dreams of changing your lifestyle for the better come true.
Along the way, lots of people will tell you how easy this
internet marketing thing is and that you'll be quitting your job
and buying a beachfront condo in no time. It all seems like
magic. You put up a website or create a blog, and a steady
stream of cash will fill up your bank account with little or no
effort on your part.
Well, I'm here to throw some cold water into your face. This
ain't no picnic and if you're really serious about making money
online, you'll have to face the reality that there's no easy
money here, either. Those that tell you different are lying. Of
course, those lies are making some opportunistic types a lot of
money. They love preying on the uninformed internet marketing
newbie.
Once the newness wears off, you'll quickly realize that
whatever it is you choose to do online to make money will most
likely involve lots of boring and tedious tasks. Yeah, the same
kind of boring tasks you may have to do at your day job. The
only difference is you're working for yourself.
First of all, you'll have to learn how to write half-way decent
content. This in itself is a major chore for some people.
Whaddy' you mean I have to write?
The internet runs on content and you'll often hear marketers
saying "Content is King". The search engines love content and
you'll have to learn how to grind out plenty of content to feed
those hungry engines in order to get the traffic you need.
Websites need content. Blogs need content. Forums need content.
Article Directories need content.
Everyone who is getting lots of traffic to their sites, blogs
and forums is putting out a lot of content. You have to sit
there and figure out what you're going to write about, write it,
then post it online. You must do this again and again.
Wanna promote affiliate products using pay per click
advertising or PPC?
Great. Now you're gonna be learning how to write short,
powerful ads that get people's attention. No one starts out
being a good ad writer, either, so you're in for a steep
learning curve. You'll be grinding out countless ads and
probably rewriting them over and over again, until you find a
few winners that actually make you some money. There's also the
daily monitoring of your click through rate, ad budget, etc.
Planning on starting a blog on a topic you really like?
Fine, but realize that if you want your blog to gain any kind
of popularity, you'll need loyal readers and lots of traffic.
You can attract readers by posting interesting stuff on a
continuous basis. A blog is a major commitment because you have
to keep posting fresh content. Top bloggers know this and are
dedicated to always finding something to talk about. If you feel
you can't do this, then maybe a blog isn't the right choice for
you. It can be a major drag when you feel like you just can't
come up with some unique content.
Posting to popular forums and networking sites is a proven
method to drive traffic to your site, but if you have seven
forums and ten networking sites that you have to post on to
constantly keep the traffic flowing, this can get really
tiresome after a while.
Gonna sell stuff on Ebay?
You'll need to create a winning sales pitch and constantly
monitor numerous postings. There's also customer questions and
problems to deal with, not to mention, product delivery.
Are you ready to do this every single day?
Pretty much everything you do online that can earn you a decent
income will involve doing repetitive tasks on a regular basis.
This stuff isn't fun, but it's definitely necessary if you want
to achieve any kind of success online.
So when the everyday grind gets to be a little too much, just
remember why you're doing this in the first place. You wanna
make a better life for yourself.
Slog through it someday, you'll be glad you did.
